Partnership for America is a new, grassroots organization dedicated to fighting for American independence—independence from foreign creditors, foreign energy producers and excessive government control.  The Partnership is determined to fight to protect the unalienable rights of all Americans and ensure a new era of American greatness.  To be the best we can be!

We believe America is exceptional because the vast majority of Americans has always agreed with signers of the Declaration of Independence that “all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The Constitution and the first ten amendments known as the Bill of Rights were carefully crafted to create a government to protect those rights, though it took the Civil War and subsequent Constitutional amendments to make clear that slavery is inconsistent with these assertions.  By ratifying the Constitution, the states granted limited powers to the Federal government and reserved to themselves and their citizens those powers not explicitly granted.

The Founders were rightly concerned that the fallible human beings who ran the central government would have a tendency to give themselves more and more power over the lives of Americans. Therefore, the Constitution not only provided for the dual sovereignty of state and Federal governments but also provided that the three branches of that Federal government would provide checks and balances to prevent one person or branch from gaining too much power.

To accomplish its mission of preserving American Independence, there are a number of reforms which the Partnership intends to pursue, but repealing and replacing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is its highest priority. The Partnership believes strongly that PPACA poses a great threat to our system of government, which has endured an amazing 222 years. By concentrating nearly total control of one seventh of the nation’s economy in Washington – and for the first time mandating that Americans buy a product that they may not want – PPACA makes more Americans than ever dependent on the Federal government and sets the precedent for even greater control over our lives.

The Partnership also believes that there were problems with the American health care system before PPACA was enacted that will need to be addressed when it is repealed.  Therefore, as its first major project, the Partnership is helping lead the fight to “Repeal and Replace” the health care reform law. The Partnership is building a coalition of interested stakeholders and scholars – and working with lawmakers – to devise realistic, consumer driven and market-based alternatives to government controlled health care.
