Can Health Care Law be Considered a Success?

on November 4, 2011

This story from The Hill says that at least one Democratic “super PAC” sees no reason to not embrace Washington’s massive health care law as the election cycle begins to take shape.

The organization called, “Priorities USA” said through its spokesperson, “Health care reform is a significant part of President Obama’s record.”

Politics and electioneering aside, it’s hard to see how the law can be considered a success.  In just the 19months since its passage:

  • 27 States have filed suit, challenging the law’s constitutionality
  • A major portion of the law called the CLASS Act has been scrapped because it is financially unfeasible
  • Health care costs have continued to rise and at a higher pace than anticipated

It’s hard to see that as a winning combination.
